In school programs:
The standard in school program caters for both key stage 3 and 4, and includes an individually tailored education package for each student including English, Maths, Science, ICT, PSHE, Sex and Relationships Education and Beliefs and Values as core subjects.
A timetable is then generated based around the students' options which are chosen from a vast list of subject as follows: History; Geography; Media; Performing Arts; Business Studies; Art; Woodwork; Animal Care; Languages; Health and Social Care; Religious Studies; Sports and Fitness; Food Technology; Environmental Award. This subjects are taught on a range of levels of qualifications from ASDAN portfolios, Entry Level Certificates, Functional Skills, GCSEs and Cambridge Technical Diplomas at both GCSE and A Level.
These classes are taught through theory classes, practical lessons and outbound activities. All students receive the best quality education in a highly staffed environment, all staff are also trained in speech and language and basic life skills to allow students to prepare themselves not only for academic achievement but social and emotional well-being as well.
Our outbound program runs within the standard school program but offers education on a 1:1 basis off site in a variety of educational settings. The difference with this provision is that the student does not have to engage in a classroom setting but instead is taken to a range of libraries, study centres and in home settings to learn.
The further benefits of offsite learning is the practical engagement the students are given with such establishments as Tides Leisure Centre, local Museums and English Heritage sites. Students would be collected or met at an agreed location and would be educated from 9:30 until 14:30 five days a week.
